As any coach and mentor will now, observing sufficient downtime is key to achieving high performance. If you don’t take the time to unwind, your performance is bound to decrease.
For many years, it was believed that the optimal workweek should at maximum contain 40-45 working hours. Any hours spent over these hours, would eat into the overall productivity due to fatigue, loss of focus, etc, and as such would decrease one’s overall productivity. More recent studies have shown that there really isn’t a “golden number”, as productivity is very personal, and as such the optimal working hours differ from person to person.
But what is universally agreed, is that downtime is important and contributes to your productivity and performance.
