Credential and Membership Levels for individuals:

  • ICF Credential:
    • ACC = Associate Certified Coach
      • 60+ hours training
      • 100+ hours coaching experience
    • PCC = Professional Certified Coach
      • 125+ hours training
      • 500+ hours coaching experience
    • MCC = Master Certified Coach
      • 200+ hours training
      • 2,500+ hours coaching experience
  • ICF Membership
    • completed 60 hours of coach-specific training that meets ICF’s training requirements.
    • Fewer than 60 hours of coach-specific training and being currently enrolled in at least a 60 hour ICF-approved ACTP or ACSTH training program.

Accreditation Levels for training organisations:

  • ICF Accreditation:
    • Accredited Coaching Training Program (ACTP)
      • 125+ hours of student contact
      • at least 80 percent of all training must be delivered in synchronous activities and focused on the ICF Core Competencies
      • Student contact hours includes direct instruction, real-time discussions, observation and feedback or practice coaching sessions, and mentoring students
      • Homework/Independent study
    • Approved Coaching Specific Training Hours (ACSTH)
      • 30+ hours of student contact
      • At least 80 percent of all training must be delivered in synchronous activities and focused on the ICF Core Competencies
      • Student contact hours includes direct instruction, real-time discussions, observation and feedback or practice coaching sessions, and mentoring students
      • Homework/Independent study
    • Continuing Coach Education (CCE)
      • Advanced Training in Core Competencies and Resource Development
      • CCE is considered supplemental and advanced education for those wishing to acquire new learning and/or those who are renewing their ICF Credential.
