The International Regulator of Coaching and Mentoring CIC (IRCM) is a Community Interest Company.  As a Community Interest Company (CIC) the IRCM is approved by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies through the CIC Regulator’s community interest test, for the protection of the consumer.

This approval gives the IRCM the authority to carry out activities for the benefit of the coaching and mentoring industry consumers (buyers, end-users, clients, customers, students, and members).  The activities carried out by the IRCM cover creating and maintaining a single central unified directory of all organisations and individuals within the coaching and mentoring industry; Professional Bodies, Support Groups, Education/Training Organisations, Coaches, Mentors, and Commercial Organisations.

The IRCM partners with the Professional Bodies, and continues to work with all organisations and individuals committed to growing consumer confidence by working within the Steering Committees to review and enhance the unified Industry Codes, as such raising the Standards, Confidence and Excellence in the coaching and mentoring industry.

Consumers benefit from this single central unified directory as it provides each consumer with the information provided by each organisation and individual who commits to growing consumer confidence by abiding by the unified industry codes (unified Code of Industry Ethics, unified Core Competencies, Disciplinary Procedures, and recognising a central Ombudsman Service).  This single central unified directory will include Organisations, Education and Individuals; as well as noting individuals and organisations that have not renewed their registration or have ceased to trade.  The IRCM will record all notifications of professional misconduct, and confirms that individuals and organisations can request to be removed from the register.  The IRCM will comply with the request and provide the consumers with their reason for public record.

The IRCM endeavours to support all coaching and mentoring industry consumers,
supporting genuine coaching and mentoring organisations and professionals;
and continues to work to promote excellence, improving confidence with
the consumers in the international community of coaching and mentoring.

In order that the consumers benefit from high quality services and products within the coaching and mentoring industry; the IRCM encourages all Professional Bodies, Support Groups, and Education Organisations in the coaching and mentoring industry to demonstrate their commitment to excellence by including their organisation and members on the unified single central directory.  The IRCM encourages all coaches and/or mentors to gain accreditation/credentialing from a REGISTERED or ACCREDITED Professional Body; but recognises that Coaches and/or Mentors may select to register independently of a Professional Body or register with the IRCM if they are not a member of a Professional Body.

Each directory provides details of all Organisations/Individuals who demonstrate their commitment to excellence by REGISTERING or ACCREDITING:

  1. LISTED by the IRCM provides the consumers with a list of all Organisation trading in the coaching and mentoring industry who have not selected to demonstrate their commitment to excellence.
  2. REGISTERED by the IRCM demonstrates that the each Organisation/Individual provides a level of commitment to excellence by demonstrating that they have agreed to abide by the Unified Code of Industry Ethics, Unified Industry Core Competencies, Disciplinary Procedures, and an Ombudsman Service for Consumers.
  3. ACCREDITED – Accreditation is available to all Professional Bodies who register with the IRCM and provides an additional level of professionalism, accountability and a level of confidence through the IRCM’s verification of the services provided by a Professional Body for its members.
